It’s a very busy hotel, within easy walking distance of the centre’s main shopping areas. It has plenty of facilities and seems very popular. What makes this hotel stand out are its people. Very pleasant and welcoming, and genuine with it, not just the corporate gesture that they’ve been told to do you get in some chain hotels. A good example of this is at breakfast, you’re greeted on entry and taken to your table, and immediately you notice there’s at least half a dozen staff bringing you drinks, clearing away, and setting tables ready for the next guests, a well-oiled machine but still time for friendly banter and assistance. So many hotels now have dirty tables that haven’t been cleared or wiped, nobody around to ask for anything you need. The service here is professional yet relaxed guest interaction, and it’s what makes this hotel stand out from many other “margins above all else” hotels that claim but fail to deliver any reasonable level of hospitality. Recommended highly for having staff around when you’re likely to need them, for having staff with personalities, they’ve got this right, and everything else falls into place. Food and drink were good, room facilities were good, and hotel cleanliness was very good.

We stayed in a deluxe canal view room. The room was gorgeous and very spacious with a sofa and desk on one side, and huge bed to the other. We ate elsewhere, however had a few drinks in the bar before heading to our room for the night, great choice of drinks and good value, the bar had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant for breakfast was lovely, food fresh and hot. The bed and shower were brilliant, and I have to say the curtains really worked, the room was blackout when closed. We had access to the swimming pool, however we didn’t know this until we came and checked in so weren’t able to use it as we had no costumes and none in local shops. Brilliant stay and have already said we would stay again.

Lovely big room ,nice and warm ,staff were lovely. The location is great close to all the shops. The snack menu in the bar was really good. The guy in the spa was so friendly and welcoming. The weather was so bad, snow hail rain, but we didn't mind staying in the hotel .the walk over the bridge was an experience. I enjoyed watching the ducks and Swan and all the narrow boats . The breakfast was what you would expect all English and cereals croissants and it was nice and warm. After fighting cancer for 15 months, this was the break I needed. we will definitely stay here again.

The catering facilities were superb, breakfast particularly. There was no queuing even at very busy times, the buffet breakfast was replenished rapidly, the staff service being exemplary. The hotel atmosphere was extremely welcoming , the staff, who all appeared very happy in their jobs added to the relaxed feeling engendered by their customers. Thefact that there is a dedicated parking area for the hotel removed a lot of the worries associated with a central city hotel. The fact that it was a 5 min. walk to the city centre ws a great bonus.

All staff in reception are helpful and sincere. One of them helped lock and retake luggage for quick a few times in store room but still kept smiling that showed very professional! Another staff even took the room key to me for early check-in while we were having lunch in restaurant. The indoor swimming pool is perfect to use with optimum temperature and with quite an acceptable length. Breakfast included which is good enough.
